Without plans for the weekend? What the Harvest offers in Paracas

Do you want to go for a walk on the weekend and enjoy a good table? This March 31 and April 1 the V Festival of the Vintage Paracas 2023. During these days, the public will enjoy a free wine fair, pisco tasting, concerts and more.

The Chamber of Tourism and Foreign Trade of Paracas (CAPATUR) organizes the event -which combines the culture and tradition of the area- to boost tourism in the region. It is expected to attract more than 12,000 national and international visitors.

WINE FAIR

The vintage is the time of harvesting or harvesting the grapes, generally those that will later be transformed into wine or liquor. From CAPATUR they remember that the grape is more than 500 years old in Peru and, at that time, a grape brandy was exported to Spain that later became known as pisco.

During the Harvest Festival in Paracas, 12 companies from the Pisco province will present the best of their wine and pisco production in a free event. This seeks to stimulate the productivity of local winegrowers.

Also, on April 1 (4:30 pm) there will be a national pisco tasting contest.

ARTISTIC SHOW

On these days the queen of the festival will also be chosen and crowned. Added to this are the concerts that will be held, on both days, at the El Chaco spa.

Among the groups invited are Son Tentación, Vernis Hernández, the New Temptation of Chincha and more. The last day will close with a fireworks display.

Eduardo Jáuregui, president of CAPATUR, pointed out that the objective of the event is to once again position and reinforce Paracas as an emblematic tourist destination. “In Paracas nobody gets bored. We have the Paracas Reserve, the beach, restaurants, water games for the family, sports on the sand, diving, among other things”, he indicated.
