Outing with children? A guide with 6 fun and delicious proposals to go out to eat with the family

Hollyfood

Do you want to take photos with Spider-Man? Or try on the Hogwarts sorting hat? All this is possible in the space that has four themed spaces dedicated to the Marvel universes, “Star Wars”, “Games of Thrones” and “Harry Potter”. We are in the first thematic and interactive Peruvian restaurant, with American food, where adults and children can enjoy a live show and cosplayers with heroes, villains and princesses.

Recently, they launched six themed burgers (with Angus beef) based on iconic characters from geek culture. The burgers were designed thinking about every detail: ingredient, bread color and presentation. For example, there is the Bros. Sandwich (in homage to Mario Bros.) served on red bread with cheese, chicken breast base, chicken fingers, cheese and golf sauce. The other burgers are inspired by Pikachu, Iron Man, “Harry Potter,” “Star Wars” and the Hollyfood mascot. They come accompanied by collectible cards.

D’Onofrio Park

If you grew up in the 80’s and 90’s, you surely dreamed of the day you visited this iconic ice cream shop. Today, the children of yesterday repeat the cycle and go with their families to enjoy one of the more than 40 ice cream options. It was in 1984 when the current concept of a park was created, bringing the pergola, lighting posts, plants and benches inside the premises.

Among the ice creams, the jumbo cup and the banana split stand out. Today’s and always favorites. For children, they also have ice creams with different figures such as the pig cup, the Chavo cup, Mickey Mouse, bee, superheroes and superheroines and more.

Saram Cafe

If you only hear Twice or Blackpink songs in your house, this is the place for you. Here you eat and breathe Kpop: the TVs show videos, collectibles are sold and there are themed tables. It is the first K-Pop cafeteria in Peru, which focuses on three pillars: atmosphere, service and the quality of its products.

Order the ‘idol drink’ (frappés that have the face of your favorite idol printed on them) or the burgers that have the ‘photo card’ of your favorite artist. To eat, the offer points to South Korea: Korean-style ramen (although with a touch of Peruvian flavor), an adaptation of chicken mayo and ramen rice. There are also desserts (piononos, cheesecakes, apple pies and waffles) and bubble teas.

Ale Cendra Pastry

A charming ‘aesthetic’ cafe for the ‘pinkiest’ of the family. Pink is the key color on walls, armchairs, decorations, flowers, etc. Alejandra Cendra delights with a display case full of classic sweets: chocolate cake, crispy apple, sigh of limeña, turned cream and more.

Its new location in Miraflores also serves as a cafeteria with a broader menu that offers salads (quinoa, Caesar, capresse or vegan), sandwiches (such as sausage and avocado toast and hummus), quiches, empanadas and artisanal ice cream.

Eco Resto Park

“There are more and more people who appreciate experiences in nature. Eating calmly is more enjoyable,” says Ivonne Arias Coronado, in charge of administration. Fruit trees of mango and cherimoya, soursop and plums surround the green areas of this space (6,000 m2) made for play, relaxation and good eating.

Eco Resto Park has a variety of adventure and skill games (with the inclusion of recycled materials) to develop confidence and self-esteem in adults and children. There are climbing walls, a bungee trampoline, eco-motos, hanging bridges and a canopy (the favorite) that runs 100 meters over a labyrinth with wooden houses and tunnels. For the little ones there is a ball pit, giant blocks to build and more.

As you sit at the table, you will see that the restaurant is 100% open to integrate nature and natural light. At breakfast they offer options to share (such as Creole or Mediterranean) and typical sandwiches such as chicharrón, pejerrey apaltado and tenderloin in juice. For lunch, the favorites are lomo saltado, cylinder bacon and rice with duck. Don’t pass up the desserts like the picaron, the caramelized brownie and their artisanal ice creams.

“We want to provide a space where the whole family can share and enjoy a day in the countryside, where gastronomy and fun go hand in hand. The most important thing is that children and adults disconnect from technology and everyday life,” says Ivonne.
