Peruvian Burger Day: 3 options with national flavors that you cannot miss

The burgers they are a perfect snack. Either to enjoy with family, friends, or after a hard day at work where you just want to rest, watch a movie and have a drink. Perhaps it is because of the comfort of eating with your hands, but, probably, it is because of the versatility that characterizes this snack. There are all kinds of meat, vegetarian or vegan; You can complement them with hundreds of sauces, vegetables, cheeses, cold cuts and more, and what about the accessories: French fries, sweet potatoes, onion rings, etc. This Saturday the 30th the Peruvian Burger Day is celebrated, created by the Carnívoro restaurant, so we present three of its very Peruvian and unmissable flavors.

Advantage chatted with Roberto Mamani, owner of the restaurant, who told us a little more about his proposal. “Carnivore was born in 2010 out of a personal search. Whenever I tried sandwiches in different restaurants, I missed that flavor of home, that prepared by my mother or grandmother. This is how the restaurant was born and over time we have grown a lot. Now we have 19 stores in different parts of Lima, ”he explains.

Five years ago, according to Mamani, they decided to call their anniversary, which is October 30, the Peruvian Burger Day. Over time, more brands, restaurants and ventures were joining the date and their respective celebrations and, in some way, it was marked in our gastronomic calendar.

Carnivorous bet on the best quality ingredients, with a recipe for the special hamburger, created by Mamani eleven years ago. In addition to the classic hamburgers like royal o la hawaiian, they also offer versions such as mexican with nachos, guacamole and tabasco sauce; wave frankfurter, which has this type of sausage with cheddar cheese and pickled gherkins. Its heavier versions can include up to three hamburgers together. But don’t worry, they also offer sandwiches with barbecued chorizo, breast or leg fillet and shredded chicken.

To celebrate, we decided to try some of the options inspired by our creative, varied and tasty cuisine.

To the poor

This version is perfect for those who enjoy a touch of sweet in savory preparations. In addition to the classic hamburger, lettuce, and tomato, everything is topped off with a generous helping of fried plantain, a fried egg, and string fries. Definitely the banana is the star, it is well fried but it is also sweet, almost honeyed and the combination of textures is perfect. This is one of the hamburgers that one never tires of ordering.

Huachana

Huachana sausage isn’t just perfect for breakfast and this burger proves it. A hearty hamburger is covered with melted cheese and to finish the classic scrambled egg with this sausage is added. Yes, it is true, this combination may sound a bit strange but you should definitely try it. The meat is served well seasoned but in a simple way so as not to compete with scrambled eggs and it is prepared with the best ingredients.

La charapa

If you are one of those who are looking to try new flavors, without a doubt this option will be the favorite. The classic hamburger is accompanied with perfectly fried patacones, a charapa sauce -which is a version of tartar with jerky, onion, sachaculantro and cocona-, and is finished with some fried pieces of jerky. The citrus touch of the sauce helps balance the strong (and pleasant) flavors of the preparation and each bite is a complete experience.
