Agnès Pannier-Runacher will not be able to process files related to the Perenco tanker

After the suspicions of conflict of interest, the time has come for clarification. The Minister of Energy Transition Agnès Pannier-Runacher will not be able to deal with matters related to three companies, including the oil company Perenco, of which her father was a leader, according to a decree published on Tuesday in the Official Journal, a week after an investigation by the media Disclose which had provoked strong political reactions.

A decree published this Tuesday in the Official Journal

In order to prevent any conflict of interest, the decree indicates that the minister “does not know of acts of any kind relating to the international defense consulting group, the EP2C group and the Perenco group”. The decree specifies that the corresponding powers are exercised by the Prime Minister.

Disclose’s investigation had revealed that the minister’s children were partners in a company based on funds domiciled in tax havens and passed on by Jean-Michel Runacher; Perenco had also invested in some of these funds.
