Thus, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region has initiated such a Lyon RER project to be fully operational by 2035 with an estimated cost of between 1.4 and 7 billion euros. The President of the region spoke in favor of new trains of greater capacity, capable of accommodating more passengers. Bordeaux did not stand aside, as public consultations on this issue were held until 19 November.
