Yannick Jadot asks Emmanuel Macron not to set himself up as a “great communicator of vaccination”

Believing that “it is not he who will convince” the refractory to the vaccine, because it arouses “hatred”, Emmanuel Macron should avoid posing as “great communicator of vaccination”, for the MEP EELV, Yannick Jadot.

“Above all, it should not be the President of the Republic who proclaims himself the great communicator of vaccination,” said Yannick Jadot on BFMTV.

“Detestation”

And if US President Joe Biden can afford to take on this role, it is only because he “does not crystallize as much detestation in society” as Emmanuel Macron, judged Yannick Jadot. “There are plenty of people who doubt”, noted the candidate for the primary environmentalist, but “it is not he who will convince them.” “How do you expect him to convince the people of Guadeloupe or Martinique about vaccination when two years ago he challenged the carcinogenic nature of chlordecone”, he noted in particular.

Yannick Jadot also estimated that the Head of State, with the approach of the presidential election, had made vaccination “a referendum for or against him”. He therefore called for the “responsibility” of Emmanuel Macron: “that he put patients, doctors, scientists to communicate on vaccination,” he insisted.

“Confuse”

For his part, the national secretary of Europe Ecology – The Greens Julien Bayou has crushed the conduct of the health policy of the government which he accuses of “sowing confusion”. “The hasty announcement in the middle of July” of the expansion of the health pass “has thrown a lot of disorganization, stress for many people,” he pleaded on Franceinfo.

Julien Bayou said in particular “to apprehend the return”, in particular because of a possible “suspension of wages for employees who will not have been able” to be vaccinated in time. Regarding the start of the school year, Julien Bayou deplored having “lost 4 months to equip school buildings” with air purifiers and CO2 sensors. And the latter “are the responsibility of the town halls”, he regretted, “which means that depending on whether the town halls are more or less endowed, there is an inequality with regard to health”.
