Huguette Bello, president of Reunion, supports Mélenchon

Huguette Bello, president of the Reunion Island region, the only territory with Guyana to have shifted to the left at the last regional ones, supported the presidential candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon, this Saturday from the LFI Amphis in Drôme. The head of the party For Reunion had won at the regional June against the outgoing president on the right, with the support of LFI in the first round, then the rest of the left in the second.

“I give my full support to Jean-Luc Mélenchon. We made a first demonstration in Reunion, we will make a great demonstration on this land of France ”, declared Huguette Bello during a press conference in common with the rebellious chef. “The moment is magnificent and materializes long-term human work,” said Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

“A charismatic, experienced chef”

Huguette Bello gave the example of “popular union” that he himself intends to do in the presidential election: “a charismatic, experienced leader who has encountered the usual contempt for the caste”, won by “remaining firm on its principles ”. In this political comeback where some polls place him in the lead on the left, he compared himself to Huguette Bello: “It is because she was in the lead that the gathering of good people was able to take place, rather than with the traditional left who lied to them ”.

Huguette Bello, however, confided that she was “sad to see the left scattered when we need a united left guided by the general interest”. The Réunionese will give a speech just before that of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Sunday morning at the end of the summer lecture hall.
