One day less discussion. PS MPs failed to push back the day set for February 9 for their texts in the Assembly, in the midst of parliamentary debate on pensions.
The terms for consideration of the reform are limited, the deputies are given 20 days for the first reading of the text, between the passage in the committee and the semi-cycle. This is the deadline for amending the Social Security Budget (PLFSSR), the vector of which the government has chosen. Semi-cycle exchanges will begin on Monday, Feb. 6, and must end at midnight, Feb. 17, so that the text can then be submitted to the Senate.
“11 hours less debate”
With this in mind, the PS group last week requested that their “niche” 9 be postponed to the Assembly President so as not to interrupt the debate on pensions. But this Tuesday morning at a conference of Assembly Presidents, several political groups opposed the move to Monday, February 27, the only possible date this month, parliamentary sources told AFP. Reason: It will be difficult to mobilize deputies at the beginning of the week.
Spend more time discussing pension reform #BornCiottithem @socialistsAN proposed to move their parliamentary niche from February 9, with our bills, to the next day.
Rejection of the relative majority and RH.
11 hours less off-site debates.

What irritates the socialist party, which sees in this bracket around its niche the disappearance of several hours of debate about pension reform. On Twitter, the president of the Socialist deputies, Boris Vallo, denounced the “rejection of the relative majority and the RN. This is 11 hours less than the debate, ”he was indignant. Mathilde Pano (La France insoumise), for her part, pointed to “Macronie and his RN allies, accomplices” in this rejection. “From now on there will be heavy blows,” the rebellious Adrian Clouet told the press, criticizing the “macronist strategy,” the strategy of “obstructing any debate.”
The presidential majority fears that Nupé will be prevented from submitting thousands of amendments. Fear has been swept away by LFI MPs Clementine Autin and François Ruffin, who assured earlier Tuesday that their group in the National Assembly was not considering the option.
In their niche, which will thus take place on February 9, PS deputies planned to return the excess profit tax, as well as to include food for students for one euro on the menu or the nationalization of the EDF.
