The season of meetings launched, the appeal of Hidalgo snubbed on the left and Pécresse on the rise

An eventful week on the front lines of the Elysée race! For this new issue of the “Récap” by 20 Minutes devoted to the presidential election of 2022, we first come back to the meeting season, which is officially launched. After Eric Zemmour and Jean-Luc Mélenchon last weekend, it’s Yannick Jadot and Anne Hidalgo’s turn to get started. The ecologist will speak from Laon (Aisne) on Saturday, while the socialist candidate has chosen a symbolic place: the city of Perpignan, led by the National Rally since 2020.

Anne Hidalgo has also created a surprise this week by proposing the organization of a primary on the left, to designate a single candidate for the first round. Did you not see the reactions of Yannick Jadot, Fabien Roussel (PCF) and Jean-Luc Mélenchon (LFI) to this call? We take stock, with you, above in video.

The week has been much more favorable for Valérie Pécresse. Barely nominated as a candidate by LR activists, the president of the Ile-de-France regional council won between 3 and 11 points in the polls! A real breakthrough in the nebulous world of figures published by pollsters.
