Qantas will launch a reward program in July to promote vaccination against Covid-19 among the Australian population. The airline will give gifts to people who have been vaccinated and organize raffles. The lucky winners will be able to win “1,000 loyalty points, reductions [ou encore] ten jackpots ”, announced Alan Joyce, CEO of the company, quoted by 9News.

These extraordinary rewards will consist of one year of unlimited free flights for a family of four on all routes of Qantas and its subsidiary Jetstar Airways. At least one of his jackpots will be won in each of the states or territories of Australia, said the leader in the Today program where he was invited. Alan Joyce felt that the example set by others was important when it came to immunization.

Resumption of international flights by the end of the year

To benefit from the program, you will have to have previously received an injection of the Covid-19 vaccine or be vaccinated in the course of 2021. The hotel group Accor has partnered with Qantas and will offer a total of one million loyalty points and free stays in its establishments. The airline executive encouraged other companies to join them.

He said he hoped for “a ‘Team Australia’ moment where all the companies help roll out the vaccine and reward people who have received the injections.” Qantas plans to resume international air links by the end of the year with government assistance to refurbish its fleet. Alan Joyce said he hoped to be able to indicate in July or August the dates of reopening of the lines and the destinations concerned.
