Nintendo Direct: Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Nintendo Switch Sports and other important event announcements

Nintendo has announced the expansion of its catalog for the Nintendo Switch console with new games and paid downloadable content, including Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Nintendo Switch Sports, the remastering of Chrono Cross and an expansion for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which will be available throughout 2022.

The company has presented these news in a new Nintendo Direct, in which it has shared new details about previously announced titles and their release dates.

Among the games that have been protagonists are the new installments of franchises known as Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Nintendo Switch Sports -belonging to the Wii Sports series and with an ‘online’ version- Mario Strikers: Battle League Soccer Y Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the newest installment in the RPG series from developer Monolithsoft, in which players step into the shoes of Noah and Mio, two characters caught in the middle of hostilities taking place in the rival nations of Keves and Agnus. Its theme will be connected to the previous two versions and will arrive on Nintendo Switch in September 2022.

Before, April 29 will be available Nintendo Switch Sports, a sports title to play in person or online in six different sports: football, volleyball, bowling, tennis, badminton and chambara, with the Joy-Con controllers. In the fall a new discipline will be added to the catalogue, golf.

Mario Strikers: Battle League Soccer It is a title in which a sport similar to soccer is played and in which teams of five players face each other in a duel that lacks rules. However, up to eight players, four per team, can compete against each other on a single console and will be available from June 10.

On the other hand, in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Players will join characters from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, such as Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude, to take part in battles in Fódlan, a war-torn arena. The game is coming to Nintendo Switch on June 24.

Another of the novelties announced in Nintendo Direct has been the next release of 48 remastered tracks of the series mario kart parts Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as paid downloadable content, for a price of $24.99. However, they can be accessed at no additional cost if you have a paid subscription to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

Deliveries cannot be purchased separately, but require the full version of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. In addition, in the first of these deliveries, tracks such as Wii Centro Cocotero, N64 Monte Chocolate or Tokio Circuit will be included. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Bonus Tracks Pass will be available starting March 18.

In addition to these titles, Nintendo has shared information about the new installment of Solomon Run, the cooperative mode of Splatoon 3 -available this summer-; Kirby and the Forgotten Land -available for Nintendo Switch on March 25-; No Man’s Skyand role-playing games EarthBound Y EarthBound Beginningswhich have recently joined Nintendo Switch Online.

Other titles from Nintendo’s developer and distribution partners were also shown at the presentation, including MLB The Show 22 for Nintendo Switch, two puzzle and platform games brought together in Portal: Companion collection, and free download game from Disney and Pixar Disney speed storm.

In addition, different remastered versions of classic video games developed by Square Enix have been shown, such as Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, Front Mission 1st: Remake, Front Mission 2: Remake or live a live. The latter will finally reach the rest of the world after its release in Japan exclusively.

Likewise, the Japanese company has referred to other titles that will soon arrive on its console, such as the free update of Metroid Dread, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection, Cuphead-The Delicious Last Course, Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival, Triangle Strategy, Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series, GetsuFumaDen Undying Moon, SD Gundam Battle Alliance Y Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece for cloud.

The Nintendo Direct presentation has concluded with a sequence of upcoming games for Nintendo Switch, including the multiplayer title lego brawl, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba -The Hinokami Chronicles-all of them available in June-, as well as Two Point Campus (May 7) and Zombie Army 4: Dead War (April 26).
