The list of the Peruvian team that will face Bolivia in the playoffs of World Group I of the Davis Cup was defined. Juan Pablo Varillas heads the list and will be accompanied by Nicolás Álvarez, Conner Huertas del Pino, Arklon Huertas del Pino and Sergio Galdos.

The news was made official this Monday by the Peruvian Tennis Federation. The aforementioned athletes were chosen by Captain America ‘Tupi’ Venero, with a view to the singles and doubles matches, scheduled for March 4 and 5 at the Lawn Tennis Club of the Exhibition.

Rods, ranked 120th in the ATP ranking, is the strongest weapon of the Peruvian team and a candidate to get two points in singles. ‘Juanpi’ was recently unable to continue at the ATP in Córdoba due to an ankle injury, but it is expected that he will be 100% soon.

Peru’s last appearance in the Davis Cup was last November. In that month, the national representative failed to access the 2022 Qualifiers by losing 4-0 in the World Group I knockout series against Romania in Cluj-Napoca.

The next challenge for the Peruvians is called Bolivia, a team they have faced five times, with the three wins in our favor on the last three occasions.
