The outbreak of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine affected Chelsea in England, since the club’s owner, Roman Abramovich, had to give up control, to avoid any problem in the entity. Finally, a few days later, the Russian billionaire announced that he would put the institution up for sale and some interested parties emerged, such as the Irishman Conor McGregor.

The news of the transfer of the London box was confirmed this Wednesday and the outstanding fighter of the UFC assured that there are possibilities to venture into football. Through his Twitter account, the fighter indicated that “want to explore this occasion” and was more direct with the message he sent to a person from his immediate environment: “Let’s buy”.

According to the English portals, the sale of Chelsea would be around 3,500 million dollars, a price that does not seem to be a problem for Conor McGregor, according to the WhatsApp capture he shared. The ‘Blues’ fans supported this possibility of having the specialist in mixed martial arts as a new owner.

It is worth mentioning that it is not the first time that ‘The Notorious’ shows his desire to approach football, since in 2021 he had already confessed his desire to assume the direction of a club. Also on social media, the two-time UFC world champion pointed out his penchant for buying Manchester United from the Premier League.

At the same time, Conor McGregor revealed that he has a special appreciation for Celtic in Scotland, an institution that he would also like to acquire. The fighter has a great taste for the ball and his opportunity to break into this discipline with Chelsea is latent.

Chelsea will have a new owner soon, after the decision of the Russian businessman, Roman Abramovich. According to the published statement, this process will not be accelerated and the manager promised not to collect the loans made to the sports entity. In addition, the tycoon asserted that the money from the operation will be destined for people affected by the war in Ukraine.
