Davis Cup: find out what the keys to Peru vs. Bolivia in the World Group I playoffs

The Davis Cup will once again have the presence of the Peruvian team in 2022 and the activity will take place between March 4 and 5. The national representative will face his similar from Bolivia in the playoffs of World Group I and this Thursday the order of the games was known, in singles and doubles, after a draw.

The first duel will feature Juan Pablo Varillas (ATP: 116), Peru’s main weapon, against Murkel Dellien (ATP: 516). The key will be played this Friday, March 4 from 3:00 pm at the Lawn Tennis Club of the Exhibition and fans will be able to be in the stands of the venue.

After the match, Conner Huertas del Pino (ATP: 650) will take the field to measure strength with Hugo Dellien (ATP: 103). These clashes will be vital for the teams to be able to take advantage on the first day, with a view to qualifying for the next stage.

A day later, on Saturday, March 5 at 1:00 pm, the doubles will begin for the duo made up of Gonzalo Bueno (810 in doubles ranking) and Sergio Galdos (152 in doubles ranking), against Boris Arias. (No. 290 in doubles) and Federico Zeballos (No. 203 in doubles).

After the aforementioned duel, Juan Pablo Varillas returns to the ring, this time against Hugo Dellien; while the fifth game will have Conner Huertas del Pino and Murkel Dellien as protagonists. Let us remember that the team that wins three of the five matches will compete again in September, for the Qualifiers.

It is worth mentioning that in 2021, Peru reached the Davis Cup knockout round, where it was eliminated by Romania. In that series, Juan Pablo Varillas could not participate due to injury, but this time he is motivated, after reaching 116th place in the ATP, the best of his career. On this occasion, Nicolás Álvarez was ruled out due to physical problems.
