Colombia is forced to beat Venezuela and hope that Peru draws or loses at home against Paraguay to win the playoff spot for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. The situation is complicated, but Reinaldo Rueda’s squad will fight until the end and, moreover, has Radamel Falcao’s breath.

The ‘Tiger’ was not summoned to the last double day of the qualifying process because he is still recovering from a muscle injury. However, the Rayo Vallecano striker will become one more fan in this final match and left an encouraging message for his team.

“We are with you, receive all our support. Hope, fight and faith until the last minute”wrote the Colombian attacker in one of his stories on his Instagram account and also posted the same message on his Twitter.

In the comments, the ‘Cafeteros’ fans lamented not having Radamel Falcao in these last days. “You are missing from this team”, “We will miss you” or “I know you will also cheer with all your might”were some of the comments.

DT of Colombia mentalized in the match against Venezuela

Reinaldo Rueda stressed that his team should only be psyched up in the match against Venezuela and forget about the other commitments. “We must concentrate on what is ours, shield ourselves from the secondary results that in the end will determine our step to the next aspiration, but it is not convenient to be worried or inform the players. They have to concentrate on an important and demanding game that hopefully we can get ahead”, he declared at a press conference.

It’s not easy, it’s a high tension match for everything it means to us. Venezuela will have the support of its fans and the work of Pékerman, with experience in all lines. This rival is going to demand the maximum from us in the midst of a climate of hostility”, he added.
