River Plate beat Defense and Justice 2-1 for the Argentine Professional League, but before kick-off tribute was paid to the combatants who fought in the Malvinas on the 40th anniversary of the start of the conflict. One of them received a great gesture from Enzo Pérez.

When the referee Patricio Loustau prepared to make the draw and choose the team that serves, he called an ex-soldier to be in charge of tossing the coin. Then, the war veteran greeted the club captains and showed his fanaticism for the ‘Millionaire’.

“We are going to beat them, but have a good game”, he pointed out while shaking hands to the goalkeeper Ezequiel Unsain from ‘Halcón de Varela’. Instantly, Pérez approached and mentioned that he would give him his jersey at the end of the commitment.

The Argentine soccer player did not have to wait that long to keep his word as he left the field in the 68th minute to give his place to Bruno Zuculini. Then the player greeted Marcelo Gallardo who congratulated him on the good game and then he met the former soldier.

Enzo took off his shirt and handed it to her. Within seconds, both hugged each other and exchanged a few words before the emotion of the ex-combatant who happily showed the River Plate captain’s polo shirt before the cameras.

In social networks, users filled with praise at the wheel. “Great gesture”, “That says how good a person you are” or “You will take a nice memory of the match”were some of the comments.

The “Millo” will debut this Wednesday in the Copa Libertadores 2022 when he visits Alianza Lima at the National Stadium. The commitment will be played at 7 pm (Peruvian time)
