In search of peace. Shortly after the Juventus vs. Inter Milan singers Kateryna Pavlenko and Gaia joined forces to sing John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’. The moment generated many emotions inside the Allianz Stadium, since the Ukrainian voice traveled, specifically, to sing in the Serie A clash.
The singer of the band Go_A came to Italy from kyiv to have her voice sound in a song that is known as a symbol of peace. Kateryna decided to accept the invitation to sing during the important match and for this she had to go through a complicated trip, due to the situation in which Ukraine remains.
The vocalist of the electro-folk group gave statements to the Italian medium ‘Corriere Della Sera’ and told the reason why she decided to participate and sing together with the singer-songwriter Gaia.
“Since the war broke out, I haven’t been able to sing anymore and we postponed the tour with the band. But a few days ago I sang for the soldiers of my country in the shelters and it brought me back to life. I have received many invitations to perform abroad, but I have decided to accept only the Italian one because I hope it can give a strong signal of peace in the face of this tragedy in which people are losing their homes and lives.” Pavlenko explained.
Juventus vs. Inter: the previous
Football returns for the Serie A players who failed to qualify for the Qatar World Cup, from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to all of Roberto Mancini’s ‘Azzurri’.
However, the ‘Bianconeri’ Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Manuel Locatelli have an important challenge ahead of them. Juventus Turin (4th) will have the opportunity on Sunday to overtake Inter Milan (3rd) in the table if they win the direct duel between the two great clubs in northern Italy.
Twelve points behind Inter at mid-season, the ‘Bianconeri’, unbeaten in their last 16 Serie A games, even retain some hope of the title, being seven points behind leaders AC Milan with eight games to go. Inter Milan, on the other hand, maintain a reverse inertia, with only seven points in the last seven games.
