As usual, Luis Advíncula was once again a starter at Boca Juniors. The Peruvian had his debut this Tuesday night with the “Xeneize” in the Copa Libertadores in a match against Deportivo Cali. ‘Bolt’ had a good performance and even came close to scoring a goal in the Colombian team’s stadium of the same name.

At minute 86, there was a cross from Eduardo Salvio and, after a rebound in the area, the ball was served to Advíncula to finish off. Thus, in first, ‘Bolt’ shot and the ball crashed into one of the posts that goalkeeper Guillermo de Amores was protecting. It could have been a discount goal for the blue and gold team.

Another outstanding action that Advíncula starred in occurred at minute 14. Agustín Rossi fumbled the ball in his attempt to reject it and striker Yony González seized it. Just when he had settled down to finish off, the Peruvian appeared, after a tremendous effort, and blocked the shot. After that, Carlos Zambrano also arrived and put up resistance.

Boca stumbled in his debut

Deportivo Cali ruined Boca Juniors’ debut in the 2022 Copa Libertadores on Tuesday by winning 2-0 in Group E, in which Corinthians also started on the wrong foot, while Flamengo, a candidate for the title, stepped strong in Lima.

With six trophies in his showcases, the ‘xeneize’ undertook with a defeat the search for the seventh trophy of the most important club tournament of Conmebol to try to match the seven of Independiente de Avellaneda -absent again- as the top winner of the Libertadores.
