Nolberto Solano referred to the playoff match: “It is an exaggeration to say that we will play in 40 degree heat”

The Peruvian team is close to qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup and the rival to beat is the winner of the match between Australia vs. United Arab Emirates. The game will be played in Doha, which caused concern among some fans due to the city’s climate, however, for the “Blanquirroja” assistant, Nolberto Solano, he pointed out that the team will only focus on the opponent.

You have to be prepared for everything, focus well on your rivals [Australia o Emiratos Árabes Unidos] and forget a little about external things. I never played in that area, but we are exaggerating when we say that we will play in 40 degree heat. There, in Qatar, the stadiums are conditioned to counteract the strong heat”, he declared for Radio Ovation.

Although there was controversy around the dates and the place where the playoff match was going to be played, ‘Ñol’ recalled that “if they scheduled the playoff in this month of June in Qatar, it was because the pandemic caused the calendar to move”. He even commented that this would not be an advantage for any team.

“If you look closely, most of the players from Australia play in Europe and somehow by going to Qatar they will have some movement. The same thing does not happen with the United Arab Emirates. This National Team never made excuses, we have to wait for the moment and go out with everything to achieve that qualification to the World Cup”, he explained.

Regarding how Peru arrives, Solano stated that “We have always been a team that did not have too much or was not lacking, we are a very humble team that knows where it is aiming. These Qualifiers were very difficult, we had good and bad passages, it did not start in the best way, but we were able to rebound and that led us to this playoff; however, we take it very calmly”.
