Sliding enthusiasts, mark the date in your diaries: the French freeride championships will be held this Saturday, April 23 in Chamonix (Haute-Savoie), reports The Dauphine. The last competition of the season will be held in the well-known Grands Montets area.
A time trial and a stylish descent
The French Freeride Series 2022 will start at 8:45 a.m. with a new and original event: a duo descent. The only criterion taken into account will be the time, and the two skiers or snowboarders must leave AND arrive together to validate their time. They will discover the terrain on sight without prior scouting.
The chrono will allow some to qualify for the individual events. These lucky ones will then go down a track of their choice under the eyes of a jury who will evaluate their commitment, their fluidity, their technique and their style. In the end, the athletes with the most points at the end of the day will be crowned.
