Vinicius Junior maintained that they are not happy with the result, but that the “difference” will be at the Bernabéu

An intense match was played at the Eithad Stadium. Real Madrid lost to Manchester City for the Champions League in the first leg of the semifinals and everything will have to be decided at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. At the end of the meeting Vinicius Junior gave statements, in which he stated that they leave “with head held high” even with a negative result

“Never happy with a defeat, but the first half is over, there are 90 minutes left to make a difference at the Bernabéu”Vinicius told the Movistar+ platform.

“Very happy with the attitude of the team, we left here with our heads held high to have a good second half”, added the Brazilian winger. Vinicius acknowledged the survival exercise carried out by Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium, ensuring that “against City we have to endure”.

“All the fans leave here happy with the goals and the quality of the game”, assured. “Now we have to keep a calm head and see what we can improve for the final”said Vinicius, who opted for “Improve at the beginning of the matches. We can’t concede goals and then start playing later”.

Author of the second goal for Real Madrid, Vinicius stated that “I like the pressure, I like being in these games”.

Manchester City took the lead to reach the Champions League final by beating Real Madrid 4-3, who is still in contention with a brace from Karim Benzema, this Tuesday in the first leg of the semi-finals of the continental tournament.

The English team went ahead with goals from Kevin de Bruyne with a header (2), Gabriel Jesús (11), Phil Foden (53) and Bernardo Silva (74), but Karim Benzema’s brace (11) and Vinicius’ goal (55), allow Real Madrid to leave Manchester alive.

The Franco-Brazilian connection allows Real Madrid to maintain hope, which was slow to enter the match, drowned out by pressure from City.
