Gabriel Costa is expelled in O’Higgins vs. Colo Colo for assault

Colo Colo is losing to O’Higgins with Moreira’s goal after 2 minutes and the situation of ‘Cacique’ is more complicated due to the expulsion of Gabriel Costa (8′). The midfielder of the Peruvian team was red for an attack in the match valid for the First Division of Chile.

During a dispute over the ball, Fabián Hormazábal marked the representative of the white cast. However, the former Sporting Cristal soccer player overreacted, kicked the rival and then hit him in the face, but the action continued.

However, from the VAR they notified the main referee to carefully review the play. Instantly, the referee approached the monitor and observed Gabriel Costa’s infraction, so he decided to show him the red card, despite the Colo Colo players’ claim.

It is important to mention that it is not the first time that the driver has been expelled this season. A few weeks ago, he went to the locker room early for stepping on a Cobresal footballer.

Now, the Peruvian national team player will have to focus on the match against Fortaleza on Wednesday the 25th for the Copa Libertadores. The Chilean team (third place) is equal on points with the Brazilian team (second place), so their pass to the round of 16 will be played.
