Jean Ferrari, about Universitario: “This is a process that will give results, be patient”

Universitario was left with no chance of winning the Opening Tournament of League 1, after losing 2-0 at the hands of Melgar in Arequipa. The fall caused sadness in the fans of the cream team and also some criticism on social networks. In the midst of it, the administrator of the institution, Jean Ferrari, spoke.

“I understand that it is quickly forgotten, but it is time to remember that this sports project began by recovering positions in 2021. Unfortunate, what happened to Gregorio Pérez (who left the team for health reasons), and we were correcting along the way”, Ferrari wrote this Sunday night on Twitter.

The ex-soccer player from Universitario, on the other hand, announced that the following week he will announce the name of the sports manager of the ‘U’. “We continue along these lines and next week I will announce the sports manager”. Finally, Ferrari left this message: “This is a process that will give results, patience”.

At the beginning of the year, Universitario de Deportes was directed by Gregorio Pérez, but for health reasons, the Uruguayan could not continue on the bench. Álvaro Gutiérrez arrived later and, due to the poor results, his departure was confirmed. Since April, Jorge Araujo has been the leader of the technical command.

University could not in Arequipa

Despite the good performance of goalkeeper Diego Romero, Universitario fell at the hands of ‘Domino’, within the framework of matchday 16 of the Liga 1 Opening Tournament. Luis Iberico (39′) and Kevin Quevedo (90’+8) scored the goals of the red and black cast in the UNSA Monumental.

The new stumble of the ‘U’ left him in eighth place, with twenty-five points, nine behind the leader Melgar, when he has two games left to close his participation in the contest.
