The Foxes del Atlas were crowned champions of the Clausura-2022 Mexican soccer tournament despite their 2-1 loss to the Tuzos del Pachuca this Sunday, in the second leg of the final played at the Hidalgo stadium.
Ecuadorian Romario Ibarra, at minute 8, and Argentine Nicolás Ibáñez, at 45+9, scored for Pachuca led by Uruguayan technical director Guillermo Almada.
The Argentine Julio Furch, at 45, scored for the Atlas of the Argentine coach Diego Cocca.
In this way, with a global score of 3-2, the Atlas achieved the third title in its history; he won the previous two in the 1950-51 season and in the Apertura-2021 tournament.
Los Zorros became the third two-time champion team in the short tournaments after Pumas (Clausura-2004 and Apertura-2004) and León (Apertura-2013 and Clausura-2014).
