Sadio Mané: “If 60 or 70% of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool, I will do what they want”

Sadio Mane It has been the name that sounds the most in recent days in the European transfer market. The attacker of Liverpoolwho scored 23 goals last season, has been one of the main goals of the Bayern Munich to replace the possible departures of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona or Serge Gnabry to another top league in Europe.

And in the midst of these rumours, Mané made clear his desire to change the scene and leave the ‘reds’ after six seasons. “If 60-70% of the Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool, I will do what they want… We will see soon,” he said in a chat with an African media outlet. Without a doubt, the Senegalese meets the media profile to take the place of ‘Lewa’ and, likewise, with the function of the work by both bands that Gnabry offers.

Mané still has one more season on his contract with Liverpool, but with that last statement he would have made clear his position of arriving at the ‘Bavarian’ team, which in turn feels closer every day to the departure of its Polish star, who at 33 years, he considers his cycle in Germany finished.

According to the German newspaper Bild, Bayern would be willing to pay him around 21 million euros per year. In this way, the Senegalese would become one of the best paid on the team. Although from Anfield they would have put a stop, because they would not listen to offers for less than 53 million euros.

Sané is currently in Senegal with a view to starting qualifying for the 2023 African Cup, which will take place in the Ivory Coast. This Saturday, June 4, it will premiere receiving Benin, as it is part of group L along with Mozambique and Rwanda.
