Peru vs Australia: the best points and places to enjoy the playoff match live

Since March 29, the day the peruvian national team won his access to the long-awaited playoff, millions of Peruvians have been waiting for the match that will define a new World Cup dream. Now there is only less than a week left and emotions intensify with the passing of days. Meanwhile, many are already making their plans for this important sporting event for the country.

The ‘Blanquirroja’ will have to play their World Cup ticket against Australia, the winner of the Asian play-off, the next Monday June 13 in Doha,Qatar. The vast majority of Peruvians will be extremely attentive to what happens in this match, which will be played in the modern Ahmed bin Ali Stadium

Some, of course, will have the chance to travel to the Qatari capital and unconditionally support the national team; Others will see it from their homes or also in malls, restaurants, bars and more spaces that will open their doors to enjoy the playoffs.

With regard to the match in which Peru will risk its life to qualify for its second consecutive World Cup, in this note we recount the ‘points’ or places where you can experience soccer fever to the fullest on Monday afternoon, either with the company of friends or family.

Lima’s center

Considering the game time (1:00 pm / Peruvian time)in the Center of Lima there are many restaurants, restobars and bars, both around the Plaza San Martín and along the Jirón de la Unión, where you can enjoy food and drinks during the development of the game.

In fact, there are quite well-known places where they tune in to soccer matches, especially the Peruvian national team, for all their clients. Futbol Club Stadium, La Emolientería Bar, Rincón Cervecero, among others, are good options to live the repechage surrounded by a good soccer atmosphere, excellent decoration, rich typical dishes of our Peru and pleasant drinks in the historic center of the capital.

Barranco and Miraflores

Both Barranco and Miraflores have become quite welcoming places to cheer on the national team. Restaurants and bars abound in both districts where you can experience the excitement before, during and after the playoffs on June 13.

One of the best known ‘points’ is the modern San Ramon Boulevard, traditionally called ‘Calle de las Pizzas’ in Miraflores, where you can find very attractive places. Whenever the national team plays, the atmosphere of that pedestrian passage -full of bars, pizzerias and other restaurants- is painted red and white with a football theme to enjoy the game in the best possible way.

Among the places of preference for fans in these districts are ‘The Corner Sports Bar & Grill’, ‘Cachina Bar’, ‘Chill Out Resto Bar’ and ‘Mercado 28’ in Miraflores, while in Barranco there are ‘Barranco Beer Company ‘ and ‘Barbarian Bar’.

It should be noted that renowned restaurant chains such as TGI Fridays and Rustica will also make their multi-screens available in the repechage, as they did in the friendly against New Zealand.

giant screens

Whenever there is a special appointment of the selection, giant screens are installed in different parts of the country. In our capital, in recent times, Kennedy Park and the Plaza de Armas have become the traditional settings where people congregate to experience the football festival thanks to these panoramic screens.

So far, neither the Municipality of Lima nor the Municipality of Miraflores have reported the installation of giant LED screens for the playoffs; however, it is expected that, with the rival already confirmed, they will do so in the coming days. In fact, in the match against Paraguay at the end of March this year, both municipalities organized this type of event at the Magic Water Circuit and Kennedy Park, respectively.

As for other districts, the Municipality of Bellavista (Callao) recently confirmed that a giant screen will be installed in Plaza Isabel La Católica so that the surrounding area can enjoy the game together. The municipalities of San Borja, San Miguel, El Agustino, Ventanilla, Puente Piedra, among others, are expected to do the same, as happened in Peru vs. Paraguay on the last date of the Qualifiers.

Malls and shopping centers

Malls and/or shopping centers are becoming the best ‘points’ to live the football festival to the fullest. In fact, in the last friendly against New Zealand, several of these spaces opened their doors for fans to congregate inside, enjoying the match.

In commercial points such as Mallplaza (Bellavista, Comas and Santa Anita), Real Plaza (Salaverry, Primavera, Puruchuco, Santa Clara, Villa María and Pro), Minka and Jockey Plaza offered contests, prizes, offers, giant screens (especially in the food courts), and much more for all those attending that Sunday.

That formula will be repeated for Monday’s repechage. Malls and shopping centers will once again welcome all Peruvian fans to enjoy an eventual World Cup qualification in the best possible way.

Other events

Among other special events for the playoffs, there is the so-called “Peru towards the World Cup”, where the match will be projected on a giant screen, accompanied by the music of Zaperoko, Celia Cruz and her Orchestra from Yo Soy and the Guayando Super Orchestra.

The concert will take place at the Arena Bar Convention Center (Barranco) from 12:00 pm and ticket sales are available through Teleticket. Ticket prices vary between the three available zones: General (S/ 45.00), Vip (S/ 67.00) and Platinum (S/ 89.00).
