Liverpool would offer 80 million euros for Darwin Núñez

Darwin Núñez had a good season with Benfica by scoring 34 goals in 41 games and also assisted four times. For this reason, several important teams in Europe have set their sights on the Uruguayan striker who still has a contract with the Portuguese team until June 2025.

In that sense, according to the journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool would be willing to offer 80 million euros for the services of the 22-year-old footballer. This was published on his Twitter account, although the ‘Reds’ would not be the only ones interested.

The press man specified that Manchester United would also have contacted the attacker’s agent. However, the Italian communicator pointed out that “Both clubs say they have no intention of entering into a bidding war.”

It is important to mention that Sadio Mané would leave Liverpool and, therefore, the English team is looking for a replacement who also plays on the wings. In that sense, Darwin Núñez fulfills that function well and was even praised by Jurgen Kloop.

After the match between the ‘Reds’ and Benfica for the quarterfinals of the 2021-2022 UEFA Champions League, the German strategist highlighted the forward’s virtues. “He is physically strong, fast and calm in front of the goalkeeper. His battles with Konaté have been tough. If he doesn’t have injuries, he has a great career ahead of him. He is top, top. A good striker who scores many goals. Another one from Uruguay!”, stated on that occasion.
