After completing the day’s work, the defender went to the bus that takes the campus to the concentration hotel and was approached by the press. However, the player did not answer the questions and only greeted those present, although the gestures on his face showed a lot of happiness.

Now, Byron Castillo focuses on the friendly match against Cape Verde, which will take place this Saturday, June 11 (6:30 pm Peruvian and Ecuadorian time). In the previous matches, the defender participated in the entire second half in the victory over Nigeria (1-0) and was a substitute in the draw against Mexico (0-0).

Byron Castillo played a total of eight games with the Ecuadorian team in the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers (seven as a starter): against Chile (victory 0-2 and 0-0), against Paraguay (defeat 3-1 and victory 2-0) , against Venezuela (1-0 win), with Argentina (1-1 draw), against Bolivia (3-0 win) and against Uruguay (1-0 loss).
