Diego Elías will debut on Wednesday at the CIB PSA World Tour Final 2021-22

Diego Elías, number five in the PSA classification, raised the name of Peru by being crowned champion of the first edition of the Necker Mauritius Open tournament. Now, the athlete will take on a new challenge in participating in the CIB World Tour Final 2021-22 that is held in Egypt.

Then, Diego Elías will clash on Thursday against Mohamed ElShorbagy, whom he beat in the final of the Necker Mauritius Open. Then he will face Mazen Hesham on Friday. The top two in each group advance to the semifinals.

After being victorious in the Necker Mauritius Open, the Peruvian representative gave statements. “I want to thank everyone for coming here today. I love this environment, it feels like home. I also thank the team, the club, as well as PSA for organizing this tournament. I’m happy to be the first winner and hopefully, if this keeps happening, I can come back next year to try for the title again.”explained the athlete.

“I want to thank ElShorbagy. He has been one of the best in squash, and I hope that one day I can achieve what he has achieved and be like him when he loses. It’s like he’s a winner too, I really appreciate that, you don’t see that very often.”he added.
