The Chilean international defender Mauricio Isla was presented this Thursday as a new player of the Catholic University of Chile, a team in which he was trained, but in which he did not make his debut.
In fact, Isla returns to his native country to play for the first time in the national championship, since he left the country very young to go to the Italian league, where he forged his career and from where he jumped to the Chilean team.
“I needed to play in Chilean soccer, I want to help Universidad Católica become champion, because that is important for my career,” he said at a press conference.
“We are 10 points behind the leaders, but there are 45 at stake,” added the defender in his long-awaited presentation.
Isla arrives free to the crossed entity after a season in Brazil with Flamengo.
