Héctor Herrera, the long-awaited figure: this is how he was received by the fans of the Houston Dynamo

Major League Soccer will have new figures for the remainder of the year and one of the new reinforcements is Héctor Herrera, who agreed to his arrival at the Houston Dynamo. The 32-year-old Mexican midfielder signed a contract that will last until 2024 and this Wednesday he arrived in the American city that will host him.

After a brief vacation, the midfielder undertook the trip to the state of Texas, where the club’s headquarters are located. ‘HH’ gave details of his transfer through social media, where he posted photos with his family from the plane.

Precisely, the fans of the Houston Dynamo knew Héctor Herrera’s arrival time at the airport and decided to go meet him. The MLS club itself was responsible for disseminating some videos, in which fans are observed singing songs dedicated to the experienced soccer player.

At the same time, “Zorro” responded to the affection of the fans: he greeted effusively, took photos and signed shirts. After his first contact with the followers of ‘The Orange’, the Mexican shared his experience on Twitter: “I’m here”, wrote the flyer, along with a postcard of the warm welcome he received.

It is worth mentioning that Herrera will be officially presented on Friday, July 1 at the X-Atrium in Houston (8:00 pm). Let us remember that in his last season with Atlético Madrid, Héctor did not enjoy much continuity: he added 21 games in LaLiga Santander (eight starters) and four in the Champions League (two from the start).

How is the Houston Dynamo doing in MLS?

In the 2022 MLS season, the Houston Dynamo is in eighth place in the Western Conference, adding 21 points, outside the playoff zone for the title (Seattle Sounders is 7th, with 23 units). The club will have the opportunity to climb the table this Wednesday: they must beat the Portland Timbers and hope that the Los Angeles Galaxy or ‘The Sounders’ do not win.
