Piero Quispe and his analysis of Universitario’s participation in Liga 1 2022: “It was regular”

Universitario qualified for the Copa Sudamericana next year, however, the fans were left with a bitter taste because the team did not win the national title. Piero Quispe feels the same, however, he hopes that the goal will be achieved next season.

“The performance in the championship was regular, we wanted to win the championship, but unfortunately it was not possible. Now we have to go out with everything next year to work from the preseason and prepare well”, he stated in dialogue with ‘Fútbol en América’.

On the other hand, the 21-year-old midfielder thanked the fans for their unconditional support, who throughout the campaign filled the Monumental stadium from date to date. Quispe wants to repay them for that support with a better 2023.

“We must thank him for the support he always gave us from the first game. For what the fans gave us, we deserved to win the championship, but we couldn’t. Unfortunately, that’s football, now it’s time to prepare for next year”, he pointed out.

It is important to mention that Piero Quispe participated in 37 games in the season, scoring 3 goals and contributing 5 assists. Due to his good performance, the player was called up to the Peruvian national team, although he has not yet made his debut.
