It looked like the Champions Trophy title would be decided on penalties. Boca Juniors and Racing Club tied 1-1 and there was little left for the end of the second extra time. The story changed with the goal by Carlos Alcaraz, who was responsible for signing the 2-1 for the ‘Academy’.

At minute 118, at the Estadio Único del Parque La Pedrera, Gonzalo Piovi sent a cross into the area and Alcaraz won there. The midfielder anticipated the defender who was marking him and headed in, thus overcoming the resistance of goalkeeper Agustín Rossi.

At the celebration, Alcaraz approached the stand where the Boca Juniors fans were and then the members of ‘Xeneize’ arrived to claim him for some provocative gesture. There was rubbing and pushing. Peruvians Carlos Zambrano and Luis Advíncula also participated in the outburst of anger.

Due to this fact, the game was paralyzed for several minutes. After the moment of tension, the referee showed the red card to Alcaraz and also to the two Peruvians from Boca Juniors.
