Two days after being presented as coach of the Peruvian national team, Juan Reynoso arrived in Arequipa to watch the duel between Melgar and Internacional for the Copa Sudamericana. The ‘Chess player’ said he was present at the UNSA Monumental, and after the match that ended in a goalless draw, he made his feelings known.
“They competed pretty well. In these types of matches, there are moments where you have to hit. In Melgar’s best moments, he did not have the forcefulness. That is paid. In general, as a fan and today a coach of the Peruvian national team, I see very good prospects, young players who did not weigh the process of the game”, Reynoso analyzed, in América Deportes.
The former coach of Cruz Azul, Universitario, Puebla, among others, highlighted having seen young soccer players in action, called to participate in the future transition that will take place in the ‘Blanquirroja’.
“You have to give them minutes in this type of match, so that they can have international touch and, little by little, burn their stages. What interests us is that the people who played today, who are young people between 18 and 23 years old, are important for the transition that is coming in the senior team “he indicated.
On the other hand, Reynoso did not rule out the possibility that the Peruvian team will change locations in the Qualifiers for the next World Cup, according to the opponents.
“The format of the Qualifiers has been changing, all the teams are rotating the locality and I think the geography of the country allows, sometimes, to play in Lima, depending on the rival, Cusco, Arequipa. But it is an issue that will be resolved with Juan Carlos Oblitas and Agustín Lozano”, express.
Finally, Reynoso made it clear that “the difference between the Brazilian and the Peruvian league was not felt”, thinking about Melgar vs. International, “but you have to hold that”.
