Arnaud Jerald from Marseille tells how he broke seven world records

“I started snorkeling without knowing how to swim: I fell into a swimming pool when I was one year old, my diaper filled with water and made me sink, laughs Arnaud Jerald, then saved by his mother. “It was my first apnea at 2.50 meters, which isn’t too bad at that age”.

“It was while doing apnea that I started to breathe”

It was after having practiced diving a lot in Marseilles, with his dad, that the young man says he came to his sport: “At the age of sixteen, I went along the rope up to 30 meters and arrived in down… i felt good. Finally, it was while snorkeling that I really started to breathe”, explains this former very shy person.

Already the holder of seven freediving world records, the young 26-year-old athlete won a new one on October 3, 2022 by reaching a depth of 123 meters in (only) 3 minutes and 11 seconds!
