Uruguay in the Qatar 2022 World Cup: rivals, fixtures and summoned of the ‘Charrúas’

The Uruguayan team went through a long streak of negative results in the South American Qualifiers, but the arrival of coach Diego Alonso generated a drastic change, with enough time for the team to come back and secure the ticket to the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Now , the objective is to have a leading role in the contest.

The Uruguayan team will be led by Luis Suárez and Edinson Cavani, the experienced attacking duo that has found continuity in recent months. However, they are not the only visible faces of the squad: Federico Valverde, Darwin Núñez and Rodrigo Bentancur are emerging as key players for the World Cup.

On the other hand, the presence of Ronald Araújo in defense is still unknown, since he arrived injured. Although the battle-hardened player has already trained, there are still doubts about including him in the starting lineup, either at center back or as a right-back. Uruguay will begin its participation in the World Cup against South Korea, whose main figure is Son Heung-Min. The duel will be on Thursday, November 24, at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, from 8:00 am (Peruvian time) and 10:00 pm (Uruguayan time).
