Ecuador in the 2022 World Cup: group, fixtures and rivals of the ‘Tri’

The Ecuadorian team will play again world Cup after 8 years and hopes to leave a good impression in a group that is not easy. The ‘Tri’, after much controversy, left out of the World Cup call Byron Castillo.

Ecuador confirmed its return to a World Cup on the penultimate date of the Qualifiers, thanks to Uruguay beating Peru 1-0. On the eighteenth and final day, the tricolor team fell 3-1 against Paraguay as a visitor, but came fourth with 26 units and seized the last direct spot from Conmebol.

In this new edition of the World Cup, the ‘Tri’ will share a group with Qatar, the host country of the World Cup, Sadio Mané’s Senegal and the Netherlands. The Ecuadorians hope to surprise and be in first place in the group.
