The whole world is waiting for the start of the 2022 World Cup and great references in the history of football are beginning to comment on their favorites. Ronald de Boer considered that the Brazilian team will be champions for the sixth time in the World Cup, which this time will be held in Qatar.
The former Dutch international claimed that “Brazil will win the World Cup final against Portugal”. The event organized by FIFA will have its last duel on December 18 at the Lusail stadium.
De Boer’s predictions see the Netherlands reaching the semi-finals before losing to Brazil, while France see their world title defense against Portugal come to an end. The Qatar Legacy ambassador then hopes the Brazilians will lift the trophy by beating Cristiano Ronaldo and company on Qatar National Day.
“For me, Brazil is the clear favorite to win the title. When Brazilian players put on the yellow jersey, something happens in their mentality.”stated Ronald de Boer
The former Ajax, Barcelona and Rangers midfielder also believes that his country will have a good campaign and get third place. For him, Louis Van Gaal’s team will win Group A, ahead of the African Cup of Nations champion, Senegal.
“As a Dutchman, I am quite satisfied with the draw, and I think the team can also be happy with this group. Being in the same group as hosts Qatar is special for me after living in Doha for seven years, but for me the Netherlands and Senegal are the favorites to advance.” added in statements submitted.
The 52-year-old coach, who participated with the Dutch team in two World Cups, expects a surprise in Group F, with Croatia and Morocco ahead of one of the favourites, Belgium.
“There is always a surprise somewhere in a World Cup. I think Belgium is going to struggle, and that Morocco is the surprise team in the group.” I observe.
