They want to break the curse. Kylian Mbappé was in charge of scoring the second goal of France vs. Denmark for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
France became the first nation to qualify for the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar, by achieving its second victory against Denmark, while Australia, Denmark and Tunisia have options to get second place in group D.
Kylian Mbappé scored twice in the second half as defending champions France became the first team to reach the World Cup round of 16 after beating Denmark 2-1 on Saturday.
Mbappé put Les Bleus ahead in the 61st minute and then scored the winner in the 86th, using his right thigh to drive the ball into the back of the goal.
Danish defender Andreas Christensen had temporarily leveled with a header at 68.
But Mbappé appeared to push Antoine Griezmann’s cross from the right and celebrate his third goal so far in the tournament. He was tied with the Ecuadorian Enner Valencia at the top of the scoring table.
It was also his 31st goal for France and put Just Fontaine — the leading scorer in the World Cup with the 13 goals he scored in the 1958 tournament — ahead by one.
Mbappé scored four goals as France became world champions four years ago, including one in the final.
???? The ball ALWAYS, but always at 10: Mbappé.
