Andrés Balanta died, the Atlético Tucumán footballer fainted in training and lost his life

Tragedy in Argentine soccer. Several media outlets in this country reported the death of Andrés Balanta, a player for Atlético Tucumán. The unfortunate event occurred this Tuesday, during the second day of preseason under the command of the cast led by coach Lucas Pusineri.

According to information from TyC Sports, the 22-year-old Colombian fainted in full training. The cited source indicated that it would have happened just five minutes after starting the activities with a view to the next campaign. So, the steering wheel was taken care of immediately.

There was work with a defibrillator and then he was taken to the Centro de Salud hospital. For more than 40 minutes, attempts were made to revive the midfielder, but little could be done to prevent his death. In fact, the doctors in charge communicated the terrible news.

The Argentine media specified that a group of athletes from the professional team went to the hospital where Balanta lost his life. Likewise, the pronouncement by the board of the ‘Dean’ is expected to provide details of what happened.

The message of Atlético Tucumán

Through social networks, the club that belongs to the First Division of Argentina regretted the loss of the midfielder. “Atlético Tucumán regrets to confirm the death of the Colombian soccer player Andrés Balanta. We embrace and accompany with deep respect his family and friends at this time ”says the short post.

There was also a message from the player’s home country. “The Colombian Football Federation regrets the death of Andrés Balanta, player of the Colombian national team in its different categories. We send our condolences to his family, friends and relatives. RIP”indicated the post.

Who is Andres Balanta?

Trained in Deportivo Cali, the man born in Valle del Cauca joined the professional team of the ‘Azucareros’ in 2018 and made his debut that same year. The midfielder remained in the Cali squad until the middle of this season, where he won the 2021 Completion Tournament trophy. Then, Andrés Balanta came to Atlético Tucumán on loan until mid-2023.
