Universitario de Deportes continues to build its squad for the 2023 season and this Wednesday a new departure was confirmed. Through social networks, the Ate club announced that Claudio Yacob, who had arrived at the request of Carlos Compagnucci, will not continue in the institution for the next campaign.
The 35-year-old Argentine midfielder had a contract valid until December 2023 with the ‘U’, but the ‘Merengues’ sports area was already analyzing the possibility of cutting the link, due to its opaque performance. Finally, the negotiations reached a good port and the footballer will leave.
The news was revealed by the club, although it did not go into details: the Twitter post only uses the words “success” and “thank you” to say goodbye to Claudio Yacob. The determination around leaving the steering wheel also has to do with the release of a foreign quota for new reinforcements.
It is worth mentioning that the experienced player says goodbye to Universitario with little participation throughout the Clausura Tournament: he played eight games, but only started his first two appearances (against Municipal and Binacional). Despite being a signing by Compagnucci’s own request, the ‘Skinny’ did not have continuity.
On the other hand, let’s remember that the ‘U’ has been strengthened, thinking about the 1 League and the South American Cup, and there are some athletes who have already signed a contract: José Bolívar, Horacio Calcaterra, Rodrigo Ureña, José Luján, Hugo Ancajima, José Daniel Rivera and Martín Pérez Guedes have been presented in recent weeks.
