A defeat at the hands of France was the balance of Australia in their debut at the Qatar 2022 World Cup. In their second appearance, the ‘Socceroos’ beat Tunisia and an illusion awoke in the goal of reaching the round of 16 of the competition. Forced to win against Denmark, to continue dreaming, Mathew Leckie put the Oceanicians ahead on the third day.
At minute 60, at the Al Janoub Stadium, the Australians had a counterattack and they did not miss it. Riley McGree sent a forward pass to Leckie and moments later the equality was broken. The midfielder who plays for Melbourne City resolved in a great way in the area and made it 1-0.
The Australian goal came shortly after Tunisia scored against France, who are measured side by side. Wahbi Khazri did not forgive and declared the 1-0 in favor of the Africans against a French team that began the actions with elements that are usual substitutes.

Before the beginning of this decisive date, the only one classified to the round of 16 of the World Cup was France, the product of their two victories. Australia was second, with three units, while Denmark and Tunisia registered just one unit.
