Melgar begins his preseason: the squad underwent medical examinations this Monday

Melgar’s 2022 campaign has been worth noting, since he was not only the protagonist in League 1, being runner-up; but also in the Copa Sudamericana, after reaching the semifinal. For the new course that is coming, the club will seek to improve what has been done and for this reason preparations have already begun, under the command of coach Pablo Lavallén.

The Argentine coach, in the company of his technical command, arrived in Arequipa last weekend and quickly began to execute the planning that had already been previously established. In this sense, this Monday the players began to meet to go through the rigorous medical examinations and thus open the preseason.

Through social networks, the institution shared some postcards with the athletes, complying with the health studies of the case. Bernardo Cuesta, Horacio Orzán and Leonel Galeano, main figures in the sporting year that ended, were some of those present at these tests.

“Our rojinegros passed the medical exams under the supervision of the technical command and we are ready to start this 2023 preseason in the best way”was the message that Melgar used to reveal the news.

Let’s remember that the Arequipa team has been strengthening with a view to the new campaign: Jhamir D’Arrigo, André Vásquez and Sebastián Cavero have been the first hires from the local media. On the other hand, from Argentina, the midfielder Tomás Martínez was signed, who has a long career in teams in America and Europe.

It should be noted that in this 2023, Melgar will play League 1 and the group stage of the Copa Libertadores. The last time “Domino” participated in the aforementioned international contest was in 2019, when it ranked third and entered the South American. On this occasion, the objective is to advance to the round of 16.
