A Peruvian finalist in the Poker World Cup wins more than 100 thousand dollars

Despite the fact that Peru did not qualify for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, a Peruvian left the country’s name high in the World Cup of Poker. In the tournament held in Punta del Este, Uruguay, Yoshiaki Paco finished in second place in the championship with a great performance that earned him close to $150,000.

Yoshiaki Paco has been the best Peruvian representative to reach the Millionaire Grand Final. He reached the last day of the tournament, where only the best 15 of the more than 450 who signed up played, where other Peruvians such as Diego Ventura have also stood out. At the Final Table, after eliminating several participants, Paco was left facing the Uruguayan Roberto Piazza. After several hours of play, he took second place and a great financial prize.

On the other hand, on the Final Day of the Knockout Mystery tournament, Julio Chia was the Peruvian who had the best performance, reaching third position in the tournament -out of a total of 392 players-, taking a prize of around 7 thousand dollars, in addition of the bounties that he had accumulated.

Likewise, the Peruvian Gerardo Rodríguez had a great performance in the Knockout bounty and won more than 1000 dollars in this progressive elimination tournament that had more than 112 participants.

The WSOP (World Series of Poker), sponsored by GGPoker, was held from December 2 to 10 in Punta del Este with more than 550 players and $2.5 million at stake, which were divided into 30 competitions, including satellites and tournaments.

The action doesn’t stop because the WSOP Winter Circuit tournaments are taking place online. Through January 9, 18 WSOP ring events and a full schedule of side events make up what is already the richest WSOP Winter in history, doling out more than $150 million in prize money.
