The organizers speak of a “phenomenal plateau”. More accustomed to second-class players, the Rennes Open Blot indeed looks great this year. For its 15th edition, which will be held from September 13 to 19 in the Salle du Liberté, the tournament will welcome big names in French tennis with the presence of Richard Gasquet, Gilles Simon and Lucas Pouille.

The title holder Arthur Rinderknech will also be there, as will the Spanish veteran Fernando Verdasco (37) or the young Benjamin Bonzi, who has just made his entry into the world top 100. “With four former Top 10s, the Rennes Open Blot proves that it has moved into a new dimension,” said the organizers of the Challenger tennis tournament in a press release.
A beneficial change of dates
Initially scheduled for January, the Rennes Open Blot had been forced to change its dates due to the health context. This change turns out to be an opportunity for the Rennes tournament, now better placed in the ATP calendar and which will start just after the US Open.
The Rennes Open Blot also benefits from the notoriety of Nicolas Mahut, its new sporting director, who has made use of his connections to constitute this field of choice.
