This Thursday Lorient-Montpellier match in Ligue 1 will be unique. If this match of the 16th day is only a confrontation between the 7th (Lorient) and the 15th (Montpellier), it will have a strong symbolic aspect, in particular for the fans of Lorient. Indeed, for this one and only time, the Bretons will wear a collectible jersey that pays homage to the club’s supporters.

Umbro, equipment supplier for the Breton club, has chosen Lorient for a new episode of their campaign titled “How Deep Is Your Love” in honor of German clubs Werder Bremen and English club Brentford. The idea is to mark all footballers, such as fans or players. In a press release, Umbro explains that this approach attempts to “explore the personal stories and moments associated with the tattoos of certain fans around the world.”
Tattoos of Le Feu, Diarra and Silva
On a white T-shirt, the designers imagined that they combined the entire Breton universe, the sea, fish, boats and, of course, Gwenn ha du, the flag of Brittany. 80 Merlus Ultra supporters were interviewed to create this collectible tunic. The latter talked about their love for the club, sometimes going so far as to put tattoos or drawings on their skin.

That’s all we find on this collectible jersey. The Merlus Ultra logo, messages in Breton and about fifteen tattoos of supporters and even three Lorient players: Enzo Le Fey, Stéphane Diarra and Igor Silva. For the fourth time in a row, tickets for a match in Lorient will be sold out.
