Legendary sports presenter Dickie Davies has passed away at the age of 94.
Davies is best known as the presenter of the ITV sports show World of Sport, running the hit show for 17 years before it aired in 1985.
He remained on the air, covering boxing, darts and snooker, as well as the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
He joined Eurosport in 1989 where he became the face of snooker coverage.
The news was shared by Davies’ former colleague Jim Rosenthal on Sunday evening.
He wrote on Twitter: “It is with great sadness that we announce that Dickie Davies has passed away this morning.
“So proud of his 20 years of World of Sport, 3 Olympic Games and a brilliant television career.
“He is survived by a loving wife, two loving sons, four grandchildren and two loving dogs.”
