Paris 2024: After the tutu hype, how are there still places for the Olympics?

Since its official opening on February 17, the 2024 Olympics box office has generated a lot of talk and posts on social media. The luckiest or most organized were able to secure seats at attractive prices. Others complain about the pricing or the complexity of the buying process for the packs they find. This first round of ticket sales is due to end on March 15, but will close sooner if three million tickets have already found a buyer. As it should be in view of the early days raid… For those who want to offer themselves a share of the Olympic dream in a year and a half and who failed (because they were unhappy with the draw) or did not want to purchase packages, here are the next steps that cannot be skipped.

Single rental in May

From March 15, for those who have not yet done so by January 31, it will be possible to register for the draw for the sale of single tickets, which will begin in May. As with packages, you will have to wait until you receive a congratulations email from the organizing committee in order to be able to connect to the platform at a specific time.

Then seven million tickets for all sessions will be available to buyers. Therefore, they will be able to get their hands on, for example, places for the 100m final in track and field, the swimming final or even the expected final for Teddy Riner in judo or the blues in basketball. Indeed, all these categories do not appear in the catalog available in the packs. Tickets for the opening ceremony along the Seine on July 26, 2024 will also be offered on the same day.

At all stages (package and unit), each buyer can accumulate a maximum of 30 seats. That is, the lucky ones who dropped out twice should not exhaust their entire quota in the decks. Thus, anyone who drew out their bank card for twenty-four banknotes in bundles will have only six cartridges for individual redemption.

From the end of 2023 until the start of the Olympic Games, tickets not sold out in the first two stages will be put up for sale without a draw. But the choice is bound to be very limited.

Official resale system set up

Don’t panic if you’re not yet sure you’ll be able to attend events or bet on athletes who will miss out on qualifying. The official resale system will allow you to sell already uninteresting places and satisfy those who could not get them through the draws.

That’s why early buyers with no financial constraints quickly ran out of their 30-seat quota, knowing there was little risk of losing if they changed their mind.

We remind you that any resale outside the official platform is prohibited. Tickets used in violation of the rules of sale will be canceled and their holders will be deprived of seats.

Details on how this resale device will work are not known at this time.

3.4 million seats for the Paralympic Games

In the summer of 2024, there will be not only the Olympic Games in Paris. Paralympic competitions will be held from 28 August to 8 September. The box office will open in autumn 2023 and there will be no need for a draw to discover boccia or goalball in the Porte de Versailles. 500,000 seats will cost €15 and various options will be available (single ticket, day pass, etc.). A good way to see the Games in a different way.
