Tickets sold out Argentina vs. Panama
In just two hours, the 63,000 seats that were put up for sale online were sold out to attend the first match of the Argentine team in front of its audience after becoming world champion in Qatar-2022, reported the site in charge of the sale.
“Sold out” says Deportick’s website, without further details, while the media indicate that the demand reached a million and a half supporters.
The match against Panama, next Thursday at the Monumental stadium in Buenos Aires, became an event worthy of breaking any ticket demand record, due to the overwhelming passion that the so-called Scaloneta aroused in the country, a play on words with the name of DT Lionel Scaloni.
The demand was a flood of income to the internet portal but between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. local (5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. GMT), until the authorized company posted the “out of stock” sign on the platform.
The match will be held at the recently remodeled River Plate Coliseum, which has brought its capacity to 83,000 spectators, a figure that makes it the largest stage in South America.
More than 20,000 tickets will be courtesy, reported the Argentine Football Association (AFA).
Although the prices of the tickets quadrupled the value of the first division League seats, with minimum values of 12,000 pesos (about 60 dollars at the exchange rate of the day) up to 49,000 pesos (245 dollars at the exchange rate), it was not enough to prevent a virtual queue of 1.5 million people eager to capture a spot.
An average salary in Argentina is the equivalent of about 400 dollars, measured in October of last year, according to official figures.
The attraction generated by the world champion team also had its correlate in press accreditation, since the president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Tapia, announced days ago that 131,537 requests for accreditation had been received, when the stadium de River only has capacity for 344 journalists.
