Cristiano is honest about his departure from Manchester United: “In a difficult stage you see who is on your side”

Cristiano Ronaldo has known how to remain at the top of football for more than 15 years of his career, which is why he was surprised by his unfortunate and abrupt departure from Manchester United, days before the start of the 2022 World Cup.

The Portuguese star would end up eliminated from the World Cup in the hands of Morocco and shortly after he would arrive at Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia. But the episode that he lived in England still runs through his thoughts and he was encouraged to talk about it at a press conference.

“I believe that everything that happens in life has a reason for being. I appreciate having gone through some things to really see who was by my side, who wants the best for Crisitano”, mentioned the five-time Ballon d’Or.

His time in Manchester was not entirely fruitful, the loss of his son obviously had a great impact on his level on the pitch.

“Because in a difficult stage, there you see who is on the other side. And it is true, I have no problem saying that there was a less good stage in my career first on a personal level, and then on a professional level, ”he assured.

The Portuguese striker is currently with his team, under the command of Roberto Martínez, who took over after the departure of Fernando Santos. In this sense, Ronaldo highlighted how necessary a change was.

“Fresh air, new ideas. Changes are good in life. What we have experienced is very positive. It feels something special and positive. I am sure that Portugal will be a team with more attack.”
